All St. Basil’s aged care facilities have dementia specific areas and staff with experience, compassion and expertise to meet the needs of people living with dementia or ‘end of life’ palliative care.
Our homes are ‘ageing in place’, meaning that as the person’s needs change and increase over time, they are able to be supported in the same place, they do not have to move to another facility.
We know how difficult it is to hand over the care of your loved one who may be living with dementia, or is in the final stages of life. However, consider that sometimes with the right care, your loved one could be more comfortable, safer and happier, which means you will feel more relieved and enjoy your time with them even more.
These are difficult decisions, and there is a lot of information to absorb. Ring us and organise a time to visit, we recognise that your time is valuable and we are flexible and can meet at a mutually convenient time.
When you come we will show you around, you will see the available beds, rooms and common areas. We will provide you with as much information as you need and answer all your questions.
It may be that the situation is urgent and you do not have time to consider everything. We understand that too. We have been doing this for more than 60 years. We will try our best to help you make the right decision, and help your loved one to settle in as smoothly as possible.
Our commitment at St. Basil’s is to provide the best possible ‘person and family’ centred care and to look after you or your loved one with dignity, compassion and respect. We want you to feel that this is your home, the home of your loved one.
